Aaron Carter, a prominent figure in the pop music industry, passed away at the age of 34.
The media portal TMZ reports that on November 5, 2022, Aaron’s death was discovered by his live-in housekeeper in the shower.

What’s The Cause Of Aaron Carter’s Death?
Lately, the “I Want Candy” singer was making more headlines for his erratic behavior than his music. In September 2022, Aaron got a welfare check from police after fans believed he had overdosed.
While no exact cause of death has officially been determined (and likely won’t for several months), TMZ reported on Monday, Nov. 7, that law enforcement found “multiple cans of compressed air in Aaron’s bathroom and bedroom, as well as prescription pills.”
“It’s not obvious if that’s what caused him to drown,” the news source stated, adding that no suicide note had been uncovered.
Nick Carter, Aaron’s older brother, has also pointed to substance abuse and mental illness as contributing factors in his death.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Nick wrote, “Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth.”
Aaron had recently checked into rehab for the fifth time, and he was very open about his opioid addiction. “Everybody thought, ‘Oh my god, he has AIDS, he’s a crackhead, he’s a meth head,'” he said in his E! True Hollywood Story. “That’s when I realized, OK, either you get your s–t together or you make the decision to slowly die.”
During his 2019 visit on The Doctors, Aaron also discussed his struggles with mental health, revealing that he suffers from “multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety,” and that he is a “manic depressive.” Besides from Xanax and Seroquel, he also takes gabapentin, hydroxyzine, trazodone, and omeprazole, he said.

Aaron Carter’s Mother Publishes Disturbing Photographs With A Message For The Police After Her Son’s Death
Jane Carter, Aaron’s mom, has shared some gruesome images she took at the scene of his murder. The photos were posted on her Facebook page and were meant to convey her extreme dissatisfaction of the police’s handling of the inquiry into Carter’s death.

The photos were quite graphic, showing what seems to be green water in the bathtub where Carter was found dead, as well as shots of towels and human waste on the bathroom floor.
“Still trying to get a real investigation for the death of my son Aaron Carter. They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past. Because of my son’s mental illness and prescription drug issues they just wanted it to be something easy that they didn’t have the time or inclination to address,” she wrote.
“Aaron had a lot of death threats and many people who were making his life miserable,” continued Aaron’s mother.
When asked about the approval of her immediate family, Jane said that they all agreed that Aaron’s case hadn’t been “taken seriously by law enforcement” and that she had their full backing in sharing the photographs online. We need explanations. Equal treatment is what we seek. She appealed that “responsibility must be established” for certain individuals.
Carter, only 34 years old, was discovered dead in a park in November. They found gas canisters and pill bottles at the scene. The bathtub was full, but the coroner said there was no evidence of drowning in his lungs.
