My health is failing; “after the arrests, he remarked. “For that, and for the shame, it has brought upon me, I apologize sincerely. There’s no denying that it was a desperate plea for assistance, as some have suggested. I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m taking the blame.”
Adam had done everything in his power to deal with his substance misuse and unhappiness throughout all of this and subsequently. He attended a 45-day program at the Betty Ford Center in an effort to break his addiction and then spent an additional 90 days in a secret location. He had a more recent arrest in 2002, but in October of 2022, he tweeted that he had been sober for seven years.

Adam Rich was a notable American actor, best known for his role as Nicholas Bradford on the five-season NBC drama “Eight Is Enough” (1977–1981). His pageboy haircut was a signature style during his time as a child actor, and it was copied by many moms and dads back then. His portrayal of “America’s younger brother” on the show earned him that moniker.
Code Red aired on NBC from 1981 to 1982, and he then guest starred on the CBS sitcom Gun Shyon in 1983. Actor Adam Rich made his television debut in the 1976 episode “A Bionic Christmas Carol” of the series “The Six Million Dollar Man,” in which he played Bob. The TV movie “The City,” in which he portrayed Donnie Collins, came out the next year, in 1977.
Eight-year-old Adam starred as Nicholas Bradford in the TV series “Eight Is Enough” (1977–1981). Overall, he was in 112 episodes of the show. In the 1978 episode “Instant Family” of “Fantasy Island,” he also portrayed the part of Herbie Block.
In 1979’s “The Love Boat” episode “Oldies But Goodies,” he also played the role of Brian Phillips.
