After a person was fatally shot at an apartment complex in the Roxbury section of Boston on Saturday afternoon, the Boston police department has opened an investigation into the incident.
According to the Boston Police Department, officers who responded to a complaint of a shooting at an apartment building located on Weaver Way at approximately 3:30 p.m. discovered a man suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
At the scene, it was determined that the man, whose name had not been made public, had passed away.

Several police cruisers were seen parked in front of the apartment complex in video footage taken at the scene. Around 16 hours after the incident, the officers were still present on Sunday morning.
The fatal occurrence is the most recent of eight homicides that have taken place in the city since the year 2023 began.
