The installment of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man 3 franchise will pit Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, and their families against the frightening monster Kang the Conqueror in what will kick off Phase 2 of the Multiverse Saga. Fans are eager to see more of the super-powered blockbuster in the next trailer for the third film, which is due out on February 17.
Date For Ant-Man 3 Trailer Announced
Marvel Studios announced the release of a new teaser for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania during ESPN’s broadcast of the Fiesta Bowl between Michigan and Texas Christian University.
On Monday, January 9 at 7:30 pm EST, ESPN will air the first time the new ‘Exclusive Look’ trailer has been seen to the public.
In the past, Marvel Studios has partnered with ESPN to debut trailers, most notably for Phase 4’s Black Widow in 2020. The teaser debuted on ESPN around four months before the film’s scheduled release date, however the release date was pushed back significantly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When Will We See The New Ant-Man 3 Trailer?
Fans were only given a taste of what Kang has in store for Team Ant-Man in the original teaser for Ant-Man 3, which merely hinted at the movie’s ambitious usage of the Quantum Realm. It has been speculated that this film marks the beginning of his plan to dominate and/or destroy the Multiverse, but the following analysis of the film should shed more light on this.
In the past, second trailers for Marvel Cinematic Universe films have provided more specific insights about the plot of these films, and this is exactly what should happen for Ant-Man 3.
Fans who viewed the teasers at San Diego Comic-Con and the D23 Fan Expo may get to see the moment when Kang asks Scott if he’s murdered Ant-Man before. There’s always room for unexpected twists with a studio like Marvel, and we could learn more about Bill Murray’s Krylar or other major players in the Quantum Realm.
Around the same time that this trailer debuts, ticket sales for Ant-Man 3 should begin, as the MCU aims to make a major splash in a year that features a number of highly anticipated film releases.
Ant-Man 3 Release Date
The release date for Ant-Man 3 is set for February 17, 2023. It marks the beginning of a brand new era for the franchise and serves as the opening chapter of Phase 5.
The release date of the sequel has been pushed back several times, from 2022 all the way to February of 2023. In the meantime, though, there will be plenty of other Marvel shows available on Disney Plus to keep fans satisfied.
Quantumania 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by James Gunn and Nia DaCosta will also be released in 2023, not long after Ant-Man 3. So it’s not like Marvel fans will be lacking in material before or after the sequel.

The Plot of Ant-Man 3
Marvel is keeping the story of Ant-Man 3 a secret for the time being, but we do have some information. The first clue that our heroes will be in for a tough time is that Bill Murray has been cast in an unspecified role as the villain.
Also, in an interview for her film South of Heaven, Evangeline Lilly said that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania is the “greatest one yet” in the series. Therefore, we can rest assured that whatever surprises Marvel has in store for us, they will be enjoyable.
One intriguing bit of casting information has already shown that Scott and Hope will be competing against more than just Murray. Known as “Kang the Conqueror,” Kang unified China. Indeed, the tyrannical ruler from the future is heading toward the Quantum World. Deadline announced in September 2020 that Lovecraft Country’s Jonathan Majors would be playing Kang in the upcoming film Quantumania.
The actor made a brief appearance at the film’s conclusion as He Who Remains, a version of Kang who established the Time Variance Authority to avert a new multiverse war between different versions of Kang. But in Quantumania, Majors will be portraying a very different version of the notorious bad guy. He had earlier explained to GamesRadar, “The character is different, thus you move in a different way; my psyche has evolved because of the persona. Just a different kind of guy, that’s all.
Star continued, “He Who Remains is not in Ant-Man. This is Kang. It’s a different story with the people around us, though, like my leading man Paul Rudd and the rest of the group. Because Paul is not Tom Hiddleston,” she said. We’re watching a movie, not a series. And I rode in on Loki at the very end, so I’ve been here from the start.
It’s unclear whether this version of Kang will first appear in the MCU in Quantumania or whether he will emerge from the Quantum Realm in a manner analogous to the Avengers’ time travel in Avengers: Endgame. It’s safe to say that Ant-Man and the Wasp are in for a tough battle. Kang is a sadistic genius who has assumed the identities of Rama-Tut, Immortus, and even Iron Lad at various points in his life.
