Avatar 3 Release Date: Since filming on Avatar 3 has already begun, fans can look forward to it hitting theatres in December 2024 without experiencing any of the same delays that plagued the production of Avatar 2.
To see Avatar: The Way of Water in theatres, we had to wait 13 years, but if everything goes according to plan, we won’t have to wait much longer—the third installment is scheduled for release in December 2024. I think it’s safe to say that James Cameron is confident that we’ll be back on Pandora in two years.
“The majority of the work has been completed by us. In order to complete Avatar 3, we must first complete the entire finishing process with Wt FX. However, I have no doubt that we will return to this area within the next few years “It was December of 2022, and he was speaking to Digital Spy about it.
The future of the Avatar series is less certain. Cameron has planned a four-movie epic through Avatar 5 in December 2028, but he has admitted that the third movie could be the last if the sequel doesn’t perform as well at the box office.
Avatar 3 Release Date
The release date of the threequel has been pushed back repeatedly due to continuity issues with the sequels. However, since production on both films occurred simultaneously, filming on Avatar 3 is now complete.
The filming for both movies took place between September 2017 and December 2020, but the third film still has a lot of editing to do. Cameron seems to think we’ll have it by December of 2024, so here’s hoping. Both Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 are scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and December 22, 2028, respectively.
The fourth film, which features an increasingly young cast, has already begun filming, though much more needs to be done, and the fifth film has yet to begin production. On the other hand, the script for the fifth film is complete.
Cast Members in Avatar 3
Sam Worthington will return as Jake Sully, and Zoe Saldana will reprise her role as Neytiri, as both films for Avatar 3 were shot simultaneously.
After meeting the rest of the Sully clan in the prequel, we learned that Neteyam (Jamie Flatters) was killed in the tense climax of The Way of Water and won’t be returning for the sequel.
When the Sully family talks to the Spirit Tree, we might get a glimpse of Neteyam in the form of a flashback or an actual appearance, but he is dead.
The rest of the Sully family, including Sigourney Weaver’s Kiri, the biological daughter of Dr. Grace Augustine’s avatar, and Britain Dalton and Trinity Jo-Li Bliss’s Lo’ak and Tuktirey, will be appearing in future episodes.
Miles “Spider” Socorro, a human born on Pandora and later revealed to be Quaritch’s son, will also return, played by Jack Champion. At the end of the sequel, he saved his father’s life but still decided to return to the Sully family.
In reference to Spider’s dad, Stephen Lang will reprise his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch in the sequel, albeit this time as a Recombinant, a Na’vi avatar imbued with Quaritch’s memories. Now that Jake has beaten him again, he has even more reason to seek revenge.
Metkyina leader Tonowari (Cliff Curtis) and his wife Ronal (Kate Winslet) will return, and so will their daughter Tsireya (Bailey Bass).
Additionally, Michelle Yeoh will play Dr. Karina Mogue, Oona Chaplin will play Varang, and Vin Diesel could play an unnamed character in the third film.
What Will the Title of Avatar 3 Be?
Although we don’t know for sure what Avatar 3 will be called, we have a good idea.
The four Avatar sequels will be titled Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider, and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa, according to a report from BBC News from November 2018.
Avatar: The Way of Water was chosen as the title for the sequel, but Cameron said in February 2019 that the other suggestions were “under consideration.” Could the third film in the Avatar franchise be titled Avatar: The Seed Bearer?
The story of Avatar 3
The Sullys may have lost a member by the end of the film, but they have gained a new family in the Metkayinas. Jake’s final voiceover makes it clear that he’s preparing to take a strong stance against the RDA in order to defend his loved ones.
Unless Cameron is playing a joke on us, his words, “This is our fortress, this is where we make our stand,” imply that the Na’vi and the RDA will go to war in the third film.
The third film will also reveal answers to questions like who is Kiri’s father. and why does she have such a strong bond with Eywa that she can manipulate Pandora’s flora and fauna?
Whether or not the third film marks the end of the series, there will be a resolution of sorts. It’s just that if no new films are released, there might be a few loose ends left untied.
