Barry, the hit dark comedy starring Bill Hader, has been renewed for a fourth season, and viewers are hoping for more of the same success as in the show’s first three installments. Hader, Henry Winkler, Anthony Carrigan, and Sarah Goldberg are all expected back, so we should be amazed again.
The cliffhanger nature of Season 3’s finale raised many doubts among viewers. It does not appear that Barry has much room for further growth as a character, yet he may have reached a turning point and benefited from a reformative change. As for the rest of Barry’s friends, both old and new, we have a lot of questions that we hope will be answered in the next fourth season.
There Will Be A Fourth Season Of Barry
Barry will return for a fourth season. In May of 2022, HBO confirmed that Barry would return for a fourth season, with star Bill Hader serving as director for all eight episodes. Since work on season 4 of Barry has officially wrapped, viewers can rest assured that the loose ends of the third season will be neatly tied.
When Will Barry Season 4 Be Available To Watch?
Season 4 of Barry will premiere in 2023, although we don’t know when exactly.
With Season 3 concluding in June of last year, Season 4 quickly got underway. Just after Season 3 premiered, HBO renewed the show for a fourth season, which will have Bill Hader directing each episode.
“Bill, Alec, and the entire cast and crew delivered an excellent third season of Barry; it’s a masterful blend of laughter and suspense,” Amy Gravitt, senior vice president of programming at HBO, told Deadline. What a joy to report that we have been renewed for a fourth season.

HBO has since confirmed that Season 4 will premiere in time to be nominated for awards at the 2023 Emmys.
Henry Winkler, nominated for his role as Gene Cousineau, revealed to E! News at the recent Golden Globes that filming on the fourth season had wrapped and was in post-production.
Details? “I cannot talk to you about it because they will come and steal my grandchildren,” he laughed.
To paraphrase, “They are so rigorous, I cannot say a word other than it’s on HBO, and it’s called Barry.”
Who Will Be Appearing In Barry Season 4?
The following actors and actresses are confirmed for Season 4 of Barry.
- Bill Hader as Barry Berkman
- Sarah Goldberg as Sally Reed
- Henry Winkler as Gene Cousineau
- Stephen Root as Monroe Fuches
- Anthony Carrigan as NoHo Hank
- Michael Irby as Cristobal Sifuentes
- D’Arcy Carden as Natalie Greer
- James Hiroyuki Liao as Albert Nguyen
Know where it ends, but we take it scene by scene,” Hader told The Hollywood Reporter.
We’ve been discussing Season 4 for a while, and it’s evolved and altered so much that this does feel like the point where we tackle it step by step. And if one of those procedures has, in big, strong letters, “The Stop,” then you’re like, “I guess we end it now.”
For the sake of the plot, Winkler told Variety he hopes the Barry team will “never try to stretch” it. They’re not eager to “push it,” he explained.
What Does The End Of Season 3 Means For Season 4 Of Barry?
Many of the plot threads from season 3 of Barry weren’t resolved, so there are a lot of territories to cover in the upcoming fourth season. The arrest that occurs to Barry in the third season’s final episode is the most significant of these. All season long,
Barry worked to win Cousineau’s forgiveness, but the season concluded with Barry’s arrest after Cousineau tricked him into an assassination attempt on Jim Moss. The story will surely progress in season 4 of Barry.
It’s also possible that Barry and Fuches will meet in prison because Fuches was sent there by Jim Moss. Chasing killing a man who was after Barry, Sally has escaped to Joplin, and NoHo Hank has done the same after wiping out the Bolivian mob and saving his boyfriend, Cristobal, from conversion treatment.
Barry has been the glue holding everything together, but things are starting to come apart at the seams, which means that Barry may reveal his criminal past in season 4 of the show.
