According to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police, bail bondsmen seeking to execute outstanding warrants started a shootout in southwest Charlotte that left two persons injured and one other with minor injuries.
One bondsman and the suspect the bondsmen were trying to reach are among the two injured; their identities have not been made public, according to a press release from the CMPD.
It took place right before 5:00 p.m. The 14700 block of Superior Street, according to CMPD, on Monday, March 27. On South Tryon Street, the area lies to the southeast of Rivergate Shopping Center.
Bondsmen were trying to serve an individual with an outstanding warrant when the suspect presented a firearm, prompting an exchange of gunfire between the parties, according to the preliminary investigation, according to CMPD.

“Rounds from the gunfire impacted a number of occupied residences in the area. A gunshot grazed one adult passenger, who was not sent to the hospital. The other residents of the houses were unharmed.
According to authorities, the injured bondsman was sent to a hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect drove to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injury treatment before being apprehended, according to CMPD.
According to CMPD, “another armed suspect was detained during a K-9 track close to the gunshot area.”
The two suspects’ accusations, as a whole, have not yet been made public.
