For the summer 2023 anime season, Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that it will stream the following anime: Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai 11, Rurouni Kenshin, Shadowverse Flame: Seven Shadows Arc, The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2, and Shadowverse Flame: Seven Shadows Arc.
On Thursday at 25:55 (really, Friday at 12:55 a.m. or Thursday at 11:55 a.m. EDT), Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block debuted the new television anime adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s Rurouni Kenshin manga. Two consecutive courses (a quarter of a year) will be devoted to the anime.
The main character of the series is Kenshin Himura, a former lethal assassin during the Meiji Restoration who is attempting to live a life without violence.
The anime is being directed by LIDEN FILMS’ Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka, Cells at Work! Code Black). The characters are created by Terumi Nishii, and the series scripts are written by Hideyuki Kurata. The soundtrack is composed by Y Takami. The “Kissaki” (Sword Tip) ending theme song is performed by singer-songwriter Reol.
The second anime in the Shadowverse card battle smartphone game series, Shadowverse Flame, will debut on Saturday, the fifth course (quarter of a year). The course will make its debut on Crunchyroll on Friday at 10:30 p.m. EDT.

On TV Tokyo, the Shadowverse Flame anime debuted in April 2022. The anime is being streamed by Crunchyroll as it airs in Japan. The fourth season of the anime, known as the “World Ranking arc,” concluded in March with the 50th episode overall.
The anime series Shadowverse has characters that are exclusive to anime and a totally creative plot. The focus of the first season is Tensei Academy student Hiiro Rygasaki. Hiiro gets his hands on an enigmatic smartphone through a bizarre incident.
The well-known online card game “Shadowverse” is already installed on the smartphone. Hiiro connects with people, competes in competitions, and encounters adversaries through the game.
Through the use of the Shadowverse, the second season shows the maturation of the main character Light Tenry and his pals.
On Sunday, the second season of Koharu Inoue’s The Duke of Death and His Maid (Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid) television anime will premiere.
The season is described by the anime staff as follows:
“Kill anyone he touches”… A young noble boy, “Bocchan” was once bewitched.
He has always been rejected because of the curse but he has never been lonely.
He was supported by his maid Alice and an old butler Rob who has been taking care of Bocchan since he was little. Recently he made a witch friend and his rather distant relationship with his own family has improved a little. But he still can’t figure it out because he has no clue how he lift the curse that will allow him to touch someone who he loves…
But finally, Bocchan and Alice start to figure out how to solve the situation and their destiny has moved dramatically. They can’t touch each other even if 1they want to… the romance story between two begins now!
The first season of the anime television series debuted in Japan in July 2021 and consisted of 12 episodes. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
The anime Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories’ eleventh season, Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai 11, will debut on Sunday.
Original Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories anime shorts were six-minute urban legend-based horror tales set in the present day. The short films are influenced by kamishibai (illustrated paper theater) works from the Shwa period.
The first season of the anime debuted in July 2013, while the most recent, 10th season, debuted in January 2022. In the spring of 2017, The World Yamizukan, a spinoff of the project, was created. The World Yamizukan and prior seasons were streamed on Crunchyroll as they were broadcast. The Ninja Collection spin-off anime was also influenced by the anime.
In July 2020, the anime made its debut. The anime was shown live on Crunchyroll as it was in Japan. In July 2022, ILCA and Shout reunited to create the original anime television series KJ File.
