Danny Masterson Sells Hollywood Hills Home After Legal Battle
A home on Holly Mont Drive in Los Angeles was listed for $1.595 million in 2007 when Danny was reportedly selling it. The four-bedroom house has a marble and gold leaf fireplace, an infinity pool, a decked-out backyard, a spa, and parking for two cars.
He had bought it for $560,000 in 1998, soon after he had landed his successful role on “That ’70s Show.” Six apartments and modest apartment buildings were among the real estate investments Masterson had made by this point. In 2003, Danny purchased a Los Angeles condo, which he then sold to Laura Prepon for $165,000.
In 2020, it was reported that Masterson’s mansion in the Hollywood Hills had some strange link to the rape case he was facing in court. He had already rented out his Hollyridge Drive property and was making his home in Santa Ynez, Santa Barbara County, his primary residence. In 2007, he paid $2.995 million for this 4,323-square-foot mansion.
Danny posted a $3.3 million bond after being arrested for rape in June 2020. The house on Hollyridge Drive was pledged as collateral for the bond.
During the course of Masterson’s house financing, he accused the Bank of New York Mellon and the Mortgage Electronic Registrations Systems (MERS) of filing inaccurate documentation, leading him to initiate many lawsuits against them.

Danny said that because of these events, he was released from further responsibility for mortgage payments. One lawyer said, “Plaintiffs appear to be merely throwing arguments up against the wall in the hope that they can formulate some basis for canceling their mortgage loan without full repayment.”
It appears that Masterson brought these cases (many of them on his own) in an effort to protect his property.
After initially offering the home for $7 million, Danny eventually sold it in December 2021 for $6.2 million.
