The title, cast, and artwork for the 2024 Doraemon movie were unveiled by the anime series’ creators on Thursday. Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Chiky Symphony (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Earth Symphony), the 43rd installment in the series, is scheduled to debut in March 2024.

The new movie will have a musical theme as Doraemon and their companions embark on a quest to make new friends, communicate with people through music, and avert a catastrophe.
The movie is being directed by Kazuaki Imai (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Treasure Island, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur). The narrative for the movie is being written by Teruko Utsumi, who also wrote the Doraemon animation for television. The actors who now play such parts in the television anime are reprising them for the movie.
The 42nd anime film in the franchise, Nobita’s Sky Utopia, debuted in Japan on March 3. In its inaugural weekend, it placed top, selling 542,000 tickets for 663 million yen (about $4.87 million USD) in the first three days.
