Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor Drake has achieved remarkable success. The success of Drake’s albums, concerts, endorsement deals, and other economic endeavors have all contributed to his wealth. Let’s delve even further into the causes of Drake’s massive wealth.
Drake’s Net Worth
Drake, a rapper, producer, and actor from Canada, has up to $250 million fortune. Drake regularly ranks among the highest-paid musicians in the world. The Canadian teen drama “Degrassi: The Next Generation” was where Drake’s acting career got its start. But it was his music that would make him famous around the world, and ever since 2006, he has written or recorded hit after hit.
As soon as 2010’s “Thank Me Later” hit #1 on the hip-hop charts, he didn’t slow down. He has worked tirelessly at expanding his fan base through extensive touring, guest appearances on music shows and award ceremonies, and general media exposure.
Drake has made around $430 million in his career since he first became widely successful, and that’s before taking into account taxes and living expenses.
Drake made $45 million between June 2017 and June 2018. His 2017 income was $95 million. He made $75,000,000 between June 2018 and June 2019. He made $50 million in the subsequent year. Below is a complete, year-by-year accounting of Drake’s annual income.
A Deal Worth Up to $400 Million
Universal Music Group announced in May 2022 that it had re-signed Drake to a “long-term worldwide partnership” that covered “recorded music to music publishing, film, television, and brands.” Drake has mentioned the agreement in a handful of his songs. He rapped in one song that he had agreed to terms that included “360 up front.”
Since Universal has confirmed this, some have speculated that the $360 million in the song refers to an upfront payment from the contract. The deal could be worth as much as $400 million, according to some estimates. In the years leading up to the agreement, Drake’s back library was responsible for $50 million in annual revenue for the label.
If the agreement was really worth $400 million, then Drake would have received approximately $200 million less taxes.

Inside Drake’s $15 Million YOLO Estate in Hidden Hills
Drake, who was born in Canada, has called Hidden Hills, California home since 2012 when he paid the former owner of the Saddle Ranch Bar in Los Angeles $7.7 million in cash for a mansion fit for a king. The land, known as the YOLO Estate, has several homes on it, the largest of which is 12,000 square feet.
The estate has a sand volleyball court, a full-sized basketball court, one of the largest private pools in Southern California, and equestrian stables for 25 people. His pool is shaped like a lagoon and wraps around the perimeter of the house; it has a swim-up bar, an 80-foot water slide, and a grotto reminiscent of a Playboy mansion.
After finding it listed as one of the “craziest residential swimming pools” on a Google search, Drake told Rolling Stone that he had his eye on the property for years. He had the pool shot as his desktop backdrop for years as a source of inspiration. The previous owner put the home up for sale in 2009 for $27 million.
The previous owner was having financial difficulties in 2012, and Drake rushed in to buy the business for $7.7 million.
In 2015, he paid $2.8 million to expand his property by purchasing the adjacent 1.6-acre estate. He spent another $4.5 million in 2018 to acquire a neighboring home, further expanding his property. His current private residence is 6.7 acres in size and is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, costing him an estimated $15 million to purchase.
In March of 2022, Drake put the YOLO Estate up for sale, asking $22.7 million. The main mansion was also for sale for $14.8 million.
Two of the three estates that originally comprised the YOLO Estate were purchased by NFL player Matthew Stafford in April 2022 for $11 million ($3.6 million above asking). Matthew only bought two houses, and none of them was the main “YOLO” home. The third piece of land was sold for $12 million in July of 2022.
