Forspoken PC Requirements: Will There Be A Season Pass For Forspoken?

There are only a few days left until January 24, 2023, the release date for Luminous Productions’ highly anticipated new action role-playing game for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Some of you are eager to play the game, but we also know that you’re wondering what exactly will happen. It’s acceptable given that this is a brand-new series for Square Enix.

We’ve already told you quite a bit about the game, including details on the really gratifying parkour, the furious fighting, and the realm of Athia.

Forspoken PC Requirements

Forspoken, Square Enix’s upcoming massive action RPG, has had its entire PC system requirements revealed. The prerequisites are thankfully low, albeit occasionally illogical, beginning with a graphics card that is either an Nvidia GTX 1060 or an AMD RX 5500 XT. Interestingly, DirectStorage compatibility right out of the gate has also been confirmed.

The AMD Ryzen 5 1600 from around six years ago or the Intel Core i7 3770 from the same era are the bare minima in terms of CPU age and performance. You should have at least 16GB of memory and 150GB of space. The end result is a somewhat low 30 frames per second at a resolution of only 720p. Youch.

Square Enix suggests an AMD RX 6700 XT(opens in new tab) or Nvidia RTX 3070(opens in new tab) run the game at 30 frames per second in 1440p. The RAM requirement for this level of performance is a slightly unrealistic 24GB, and the CPU requirements are increased to either an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or an Intel Core i7 8700K.

An AMD RX 6800 XT(opens in new tab) or Nvidia RTX 4080(opens in new tab)—an odd parity in GPU power—is required for the full [email protected] experience. For the simple reason that they are completely incompatible with GPUs.

However, the other information in the press release is likely more intriguing. In the first place, DirectStorage, a technology developed by Microsoft, is advertised as available right from the get-go. Even though it is suggested that you use a cutting-edge NVMe SSD, you won’t actually need one to test it out. Let’s see below about the summary of Forspoken.

Plot Summary of Forspoken

Plot Summary of Forspoken

The young woman called Frey Holland plays the role of an “isekai,” or “fish out of the water,” in the action-adventure game Forspoken, in which she is suddenly transferred from the present day to the untamed fantasy world of Athia. There have been preliminary judgments on the game’s classification that suggest the game’s story will begin with Frey intoxicated and questioning her role in the world.

A “despairing lady [sic] stands on a ledge, while drinking alcohol, and thinks whether the world would be better off without her,” as described by PEGI at the beginning of the game. It is supposed that this is Frey, who is rescued by a supernatural being and whisked away to a fantastical land where magic permeates every aspect of daily life.

While Athia’s wide-open landscape and towering peaks may give the impression of an idyllic paradise, beneath their picturesque veneer lies a harsh reality. The dangerous land is ruled by the evil Tantas, who uses magic to maintain absolute power.

A corrupting force known as the Break sweeps over Athia, altering everything it touches as political turmoil boils over and the people of Athia battle for freedom.

Frey is protected from this power, and she quickly learns that she possesses magical talents that she can develop during the game with the aid of her friends and a sentient magical bracelet called Cuff. Frey must master her new abilities, accept her bizarre situation, and battle a corrupting evil in order to defeat the darkness and return to her planet (if she can).

Several people, including Todd Stashwick, Amy Hennig, Garry Whitta, K-Michel Parandi, and Allison Rymer, worked on the game’s story. Both Stashwick and Hennig had previously collaborated on the scrapped Star Wars game by EA and Visceral Games. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was co-written by Whitta.

Bear McCreary (God of War Ragnarök) and Gary Schyman (Fallout 4) will provide the musical score for the action (BioShock, Middle-earth). Some sources say there will be a season pass for Forspoken, to know about the truth, keep reading.

Will There Be A Season Pass For Forspoken?

While a season pass for Forspoken has yet to be confirmed, Luminous Productions has already revealed a new story-based DLC chapter for the game. If you own the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game or pre-ordered it before January 24, 2023, you’ll get access to a new chapter called “In Tanta We Trust” for free in the weeks following the debut.

This downloadable content (DLC) will probably reveal more information about the Tantas’ history, which will help clear up some of the game’s riddles. It’s the only DLC chapter that’s been confirmed so far, however, more could be coming in the future if Luminous Productions has its way.
