Four Shot at Harris County Apartment Complex Celebration of Life

At least four individuals were shot and wounded on Saturday night during a celebration of life event held at an apartment building in east Harris County, according to the HCSO.

The 200 block of Uvalde Road is where the shooting took place.

The ceremony was held in memory of a person who had been buried just before the incident.

Gunfire broke out when around 50 individuals were gathering in the parking area of The Selena apartment building on Uvalde.

According to the sheriff’s office, there were “various sorts” of round casings on the ground, which led detectives to assume there were many shooters and firearms.

SheriffED confirms the news on his official Twitter account:

According to witnesses at the scene, there was alcohol present, and some people were playing a dice game, officials did tell ABC13.

“It’s bad,” said Doris Brown, who lives at the complex. She pleaded, “Just try to get along.”

While the precise cause of the shooting is yet unknown, all wounded people—including two teenagers—are anticipated to recover without incident, according to the police.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is asking anybody with knowledge of the incident to get in touch with them.
