Did Madonna Drop Her NFT?

Pop’s reigning queen revealed her upcoming project with graphic artist Beeple on May 10, 2022.

Madonna released a statement to the media explaining her collaboration with NFT company Beeple and announcing the launch of their Mother of Creation collection, which features a line of dolls modeled after the singer.

“I wanted to study the concept of creation,” the Medellin singer explained, “not simply the way a kid enters the world through a woman’s vagina, but also the way an artist gives birth to creativity.”

Last year, Mike and I decided to work together on a project, and I’ve been looking forward to combining my perspective as a mother and an artist with Mike’s originality ever since.

Later, she elaborated, “It’s been a wonderful adventure constructing something together from an academic notion to an emotional story, giving birth to art.”

Beeple, whose real name is Mike Winkelmann, elaborated on Madonna’s claims on his official website. He wrote, “In a frigid laboratory setting, with no evidence of life, an opening gives way to a branch that develops into a full vivid tree, it pushes against gravity, and flowers bloom.”

The tree may be broken or twisted, yet it will always regenerate and thrive. Madonna contributes brand new writing to this project.
