The American singer Azriel Clary is a one-time flame of R. Kelly. Recent headlines have focused on her altercation with Joycelin Savage at her ex-Trump boyfriend’s Tower studio in Chicago.
Is Azriel Clary Still Alive?
Azriel Clary has moved back in with her mom and dad. She began making regular trips to a dance studio. To better her emotional and spiritual well-being, she headed to Sin City in the new year of 2020.
When she had finished her extensive counseling and felt ready to share her story, she did so on Fanbase. She revealed that her time spent with R. Kelly was a violent one. Her efforts were backed by producer Shante Paige, who acknowledged her past success. He’s committed to assisting her with fundraising for her organizations, A Long Walk Home and Girl Be Heard. These groups aid abuse survivors in their fight against the perpetrators of their trauma.
Many women who have been victims of violence look up to Azriel Clary as an inspiration. I am impressed by how far her mental and emotional health has come. Following her therapy sessions, she has adopted a more optimistic outlook on life.
Where Did R. Kelly And Azriel Clary First Cross Paths?
The first time Azriel saw Kelly, she was only 17 years old. Her parents, Alice and Angelo Clary said in an interview for Surviving R. Kelly that they took her to one of his concerts in Orlando with them, where he randomly selected her from the audience to perform. Kelly asked Azriel to sing and then they exchanged numbers after they left the stage together. Her parents claimed she and he was exchanging messages behind their backs.
They believed Azriel’s story that Kelly would help her with her music career. Although they took every precaution to avoid spending any alone time together, tensions between Azriel and Kelly continued to rise. Kelly promised her parents that she and a guardian would stay in constant contact and that Azriel would never be alone while she was on tour with her boyfriend. Over time, Azriel grew distant from her parents.
What Is Azriel Clary stance On R. Kelly Now?
Despite her parents’ repeated public pleas and accusations of kidnapping, Azriel remained distant. She even went so far as to accuse them of extortion. Azriel was spotted at multiple court appearances in 2019 with Kelly by his side, and he proclaimed his innocence on CBS This Morning with Gayle King.
I can’t help but cry because none of you have the facts! And you f*cks actually believe that nonsense our parents are feeding you. All of this is just a bunch of f*cking lies told for financial gain, and anyone who refuses to see that is willfully ignorant and stupid as f*ck. This is how things are simply because that is the reality of our existence. In March 2019, Azriel wailed, “Negativity sells, gossip is what sells, rumors are what sell.”
Things appeared to have changed for the better by November of that year when Azriel vacated Kelly’s Trump Tower apartment in Chicago.
Clary Said In 2022 That She Made ‘Careless Decisions’ But Was Manipulated
According to In Touch, Kelly met Clary when she was 17 and allegedly pulled her on stage. At first, Clary defended Kelly, but later she testified against him. The 2022 interview with Clary was uploaded to YouTube. One of the young women who has survived R. Kelly, Azriel Clary, sits down with Jason Lee to discuss her life before she met the disgraced R&B legend and her experience leaving him.
What am I doing if I’m not doing music? she asked in the interview. According to her interview with Lee, she admitted that she had been “naive” and that it was “easy to manipulate someone.”
She emphasized to Lee how crucial it was that she “need nobody to do what I’m doing now.”
Lee was told by Clary that she still gets hate mail from R. Kelly fans. She explained to him, “I just feel like it’s a lot of naive people who fell in love with someone’s artistry and their music.” But the interview suggests that she firmly believes right is right and wrong is wrong.
She acknowledged in the interview that she made numerous “careless decisions” due to her youth and naiveté, for which she apologized. It goes on to say that she has acquired knowledge of gaslighting and love bombing. She told Lee, “It was definitely a lot of that, just keeping people there,” and added that she finally felt in charge after turning eighteen.
Over the years, she has done multiple interviews, including one for CBS Mornings. Instagram users can hear some of Clary’s most recent work on her profile.

Kelly Got Life In Prison Without Parole
To paraphrase a press release from the United States Department of Justice from September 2022: “A federal jury in Chicago has convicted recording artist ROBERT SYLVESTER KELLY, also known as ‘R. Kelly,’ on child pornography and exploitation charges.”
After a four-week trial in Chicago’s U.S. District Court, “evidence showed that Kelly enticed multiple girls to engage in sexual activity and recorded some of the abuse on videotape,” the press release states. Kelly “engaged in sex acts with the victims while they were under the age of eighteen”
According to the release, Kelly “was convicted on three counts of producing child pornography and three counts of enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity.” According to the announcement, he has not yet been sentenced in that case.
According to a press release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Kelly was previously sentenced to 30 years in prison. Kelly was found guilty on all nine counts of a superseding indictment charging him with racketeering based on criminal conduct including sexual exploitation of children, forced labor, and Mann Act violations involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity by a federal jury in Brooklyn on September 27, 2021.
