Matthew Broderick’s Real Estate Investments in New York and in the Hamptons
Sarah and Matthew bought a townhouse for $18.995 million in New York City in March 2011. They then spent millions on upgrades before offering the house for $24.99 million in 2012. However, they had a hard time finding a buyer who was willing to pay back their investment. After racking up millions in renovation costs, they were eventually forced to sell for only $18.25 million.
Sarah and Matthew, in 2016, dropped a stunning $34.5 million for a pair of adjoining townhouses in New York City. They joined the two houses into one massive mansion, expanding the footprint to 14,000 square feet indoors and 2,100 square feet outside, with a total frontage of 50 feet on the street.
While they were working on their massive New York property development project, they stayed in a townhouse they had bought in 2000 for $2.995 million. This building was also updated by them. They spent most of the two decades from the year 2000 to the year 2020 in this house. The couple put their townhouse up for sale in January 2020 for $19 million. Exiting took exactly one year. In the end, they settled for $15 million.
They spent a combined $6.6 million in 2006 to purchase two modest houses in the Hamptons community of Amagansett. It has also been reported that Broderick and Parker are property owners in the same region of Ireland where Matthew spent his childhood summers.
