The original Murder Mystery was released in 2006, and now, four years later, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back for another installment.
Nick Spitz (Sandler) is a New York City police officer who, in the first film, takes his wife Audrey (Aniston) on vacation to save their marriage but instead is framed for the murder of a wealthy old man.
A new trailer for Murder Mystery 2 has out, and it looks like the pair is back in another murder mystery, this time in Paris.
The clip opens with the couple at home debating whether or not to attend their buddy Maharajah’s extravagant wedding. Audrey proposes they decline the invitation because “a lot of people died” the last time they participated in a large celebration.

The sequel to “Murder Mystery” will premiere on Netflix on March 31st, 2023. The project’s filming was completed in April 2022 in Paris and the Caribbean.

In the first scene, a van smashes through a café’s glass, and Nick and Audrey, who have no idea what’s happening, poke their heads out. The scene shifts to a lovely island and the vibrant setting of a magnificent Indian wedding, which is tragically (for them) punctuated by the discovery of a body when the Spitzes travel there for the wedding of the Maharaja.
The rest of the ride will only become crazier, wilder, and funnier from here on out. The couple’s trip goes off the rails, as it so often does.
Nick and Audrey will once again be working with both pleasant and unfriendly new people, but that is the only difference this time around. But other than that, the upcoming sequel will have the same kind of comedic action, high-speed chases, and a whole lot of comedy of mistakes as the original film.
Should You Start With Murder Mystery Or Murder Mystery 2?
The correct response to this inquiry is “yes and no.” In theory, the first episode is optional for the second. However, if you are curious about the genre of Murder Mystery but have never seen one before, you might want to give it a chance. Nick and Audrey are the show’s central characters, and seeing the pilot will introduce you to them.
But I think that covers it. There’s a chance that some of the other characters will make a comeback, but they’ll be involved in an entirely new story with fresh development potential.
