It’s common knowledge that Natasha Richardson was a legendary British stage and movie performer. London-born to actress Vanessa Redgrave and actor Tony Richardson, she entered the world in 1963.
Many films from the 1980s, notably “Patty Hearst” and “The Comfort of Strangers,” marked Richardson’s debut on the big screen. In 1998, she took home a Tony for her work in the musical’s successful revival.

Two days later, doctors in New York turned off the actor’s life support and performed an autopsy. An epidural hematoma, or bleeding between the brain and the skull, was determined to be the official cause of death by the medical examiner.
When an artery is injured but continues to pump blood, the increased pressure can further damage the surrounding tissue if it is not released. People with this type of impairment often have times when they feel perfectly normal and coherent, so they often dismiss the idea that they require medical help. But the longer a patient goes without pressure removed, the greater the risk.

The Tragic Case Of Natasha Richardson
Natasha Jane Richardson, a member of the illustrious Redgrave family, was a celebrated performer in both the theatre and the movies. Starting in the stage, she eventually transitioned to film, with her first credited role being in the 1984 classic “Every Picture Tells a Story.”
Next, Natasha portrayed the title character in a Broadway version of “Anna Christie,” for which she received widespread acclaim. There, she also met her future husband, actor Liam Neeson. They tied the knot in 1994 and now have two boys.
Something seemingly harmless took a swift turn for the worse on March 16, 2009, while Natasha and one of her sons were on holiday at a skiing resort in Quebec, Canada. The 45-year-old was participating in a beginner skiing class when she took a spill and struck her head. Natasha first downplayed the situation and joked about it; she even twice declined medical attention. But that was before the pivotal two-hour mark.
Natasha had a headache that worsened after she returned to her room from the clinic where she had been checked out. Resort staff summoned an ambulance for her, despite her protests that she was OK and didn’t want medical attention.
By 3 o’clock that afternoon, it came, and the medics quickly assessed a worsening situation. A few hours later, Natasha was taken to a hospital in Montreal, Quebec. The medical staff determined that she had sustained a blow to the head, resulting in internal bleeding. It wasn’t long after that that doctors pronounced Natasha brain dead.
