OP Anime Gets Same-Day English Dub Fans Can't Wait to Watch

The television anime of the light novel series My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1 (Level 1 dakedo Unique Skill de Saiky desu) by Nazuna Miki and Subachi will premiere on Saturday, and the English version will start streaming that same day.
The cast in English consists of:

  • Patrick Mealey as Ryota
  • Kelsey Maher as Emily
  • Trisha Mellon as Eve
  • Brittany Lauda as Erza
  • Dusty Feeney as Olga
  • Major Attaway as Orton
  • Kelly Greenshield as Eyna

The English dub is being directed by Mike McFarland. The script is being written by Audrey Drake Rigg. The engineer for the ADR is Victor Acosta. The ADR mix is being managed by Nealy Malley.

The anime will have its television premiere on Saturday on Tokyo MX and BS NTV before airing on AT-X the following day. The anime will be streamed live on Crunchyroll.

The series is being directed by Yji Yanase (By the Grace of the Gods) at MAHO FILM. The composition of the series is under the direction of Yuka Yamada (Tokyo Mew Mew New).

The major character creators are Miyako Nishida (In Another World With My Smartphone), Eri Kojima (In the Land of Leadale), Kaho Deguchi (If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord), and Yko Ba (I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss). The music is being composed by End.

The opening theme song, “Chase Me,” is performed by Konya native Nora of Ano Machi Kara. The final theme tune from “Tamborine no Naru Oka” (The Tambourine-Ringing Hill), was performed by Airi Miyakawa.

In February 2017, Miki made the series debut on the Let’s Be Novelists website. The light book series was introduced by Miki and Subachi in September 2017. In May 2018, Kodansha’s “Suiybi no Sirius” website debuted the manga adaptation of Mawata.

Both the manga adaptation and the light novel series have licenses from Kodansha USA Publishing. According to the producer, the series is:

Ryota Sato gets the surprise of his life when he’s suddenly transported into another world and nearly clobbered at the hands of the young, pretty adventurer Emily Brown. This new world revolves around defeating monsters and profiting on whatever they drop—food, money, items, etc. Unfortunately for Ryota, he has no skills to speak of…until he learns he has the ability to get rare drops! Suddenly his luck turns around…or does it?

A cumulative total of almost 1.1 million copies of the series have been distributed.
