Orange Crush Day Two Tybee Island Officials Express Major Safety Concerns

According to Tybee Island Mayor Shirley Sessions, first responders must work together to manage the big crowds on day two of Orange Crush.

Traffic is gridlocked due to numerous accidents on the roads leading to Tybee Island, and viewers have reported hours-long delays.

On Highway 80 close to Fort Pulaski, Chatham County Police responded to a shooting that left one person hurt. Road rage is what Chatham Emergency Services authorities are calling this event.

The tweet below confirms the news:

Due to the massive crowds, most eateries on Tybrisia Street, according to Sessions, closed by 3 p.m.

Additionally, Sessions claims that Tybee has needed to purchase additional Narcan, an immediate treatment for opiate overdoses.

Due to lingering traffic congestion, WTOC has been unable to reach Tybee Island all day Saturday.
