According to authorities, an arrest has been made in the slaying of a lady who was discovered dead following an assault along a hiking route in Phoenix.
Sgt. Melissa Soliz of the Phoenix Police Department reported an arrest of a guy in his 20s on Thursday night without mentioning his name or any more information.
Less than a week had passed since the 29-year-old Lauren Heike was discovered dead on a desert hiking route in northeast Phoenix.
Heike was killed in a rear-alarm attack on Friday morning while out for a hike, Phoenix Police Homicide Lt. James Hester said at a news conference. He wouldn’t go into detail about Heike’s wounds or how she passed away.

Police reported that her body was discovered Saturday morning close to the 6500 block of East Libby Street.
At the news conference on Wednesday, Heike’s mother said that her daughter was “beautiful inside and out.”
Everyone who encountered her, according to Lana Heike, “loved her because she had such a kind heart.”
According to Soliz, the individual who was detained is the same man who can be seen sprinting in a brief surveillance video that was made public as part of the inquiry.

According to reports, the man in the video was between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet tall. He had a bag on and was dressed in dark attire.
