An all-new Star Trek: Picard Clip introduces us to the season 3 mystery. In this week’s episode of “The Ready Room,” we featured the video which you can watch down below. Wil Wheaton is the host of a Star Trek fan program. Although the show’s primary focus was Star Trek: Prodigy, it was still required to hint at future developments in the Star Trek universe. Therefore, a preview of Star Trek: Picard Season 3.
Of course, in the second season of the science fiction show, Picard went back in time to stop Q from interfering with the Federation (John De Lancie). In the end, it appeared as though the Borg (across species) may join the Federation and volunteer to protect a secret trans-warp conduit that could have wiped out billions of humans in the Alpha Quadrant.
Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard is hurtling our way at a mind-boggling warp factor 9. Picard’s latest interstellar mission will investigate a new narrative (with some familiar people).
When Star Trek Picard Season 3 Will Be Available
Officially, the third season of Star Trek: Picard will premiere on February 16, 2023. After that, every Thursday until the end of the season will be dedicated to airing the remaining 10 episodes. The series finale of Star Trek: Picard will air on the tenth and last episode of the season.
Back in 2020, after the premiere of the first season of Picard, the third season was essentially green-lit. Without Paramount’s approval, filming for the third season of Picard began during the second season, with the ‘official’ start date set for September 2021. The filming for Season 3 of Picard wrapped up in March 2022, and shortly thereafter, Patrick Stewart announced its renewal.
Unlocking The Secret of The Picard Clip From Star Trek
In the opening scene, Picard is seen writing at his Chateau home. Also, Wil Wheaton has stated that this scene occurs in the pilot episode of the current season. Terry Matalas, the show’s creator and showrunner, wrote and directed this episode. Picard has a fleeting nightmare about the ping of a Starfleet comm badge. Jean-Luc looks around his office, and his computer detects it but offers no assistance. But when we rummage through his old boxes, we find artifacts from his previous existence.
Picard eventually unearths his Starfleet storage container. The once-famous red costume he used is now in the trash. The kind of stuff that would make a lot of Star Trek fans gasp. Nonetheless, Jean-Luc hesitates for a second after picking up the antiquated combadge. It’s likely that he’s thinking back on his past experiences. An encrypted message is sent to the communication device, as shown by the computer. But as Jean-Luc points out, why would someone send something to a communications credential that is 20 years old?
At this point, the Star Trek: Picard Clip ends with Picard wondering why anyone would try to get in touch with such an antiquated piece of technology. I find it fascinating that the computer can offer her own opinion. While we’re on the topic, may there be more to this artificially intelligent voice? A possible rebuttal is that perhaps. Now we have more questions than answers. Who is using this antiquated method to communicate with Jean-Luc Picard? At least, it seems so to me at the moment. In the Season 3 promotional materials for Star Trek: Picard, Beverly Crusher is shown.
Speculation On The Cast Of Star Trek: Picard season 3
Star Trek lovers, prepare to be shocked: we know an embarrassing amount of information about the cast of season 3 of Star Trek: Picard. Why? LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner, among many others, are all set to reprise their roles from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Even while we know Patrick Stewart will return as Picard, we worry that many of his new pals from Seasons 1 and 2 won’t. As such, Stewart will not be joined by the likes of Alison Pill (Agnes Jurati/the Borg Queen), Evan Evagora (Elnor), Santiago Cabrera (Captain Chris Rios), or Isa Briones (Soji Asha).
Picard hasn’t forgotten about his new team just yet. The roles of Seven of Nine and Raffi Musiker will be reprised by Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd, respectively. The return of Picard’s new love interest Laris (Orla Brady) to Jean-château Luc is something that can only be determined by the passage of time.

Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Plot
Not much has been said about what will happen in season 3 of Picard, but we have gotten some hints from statements made by the cast and crew.
After the underwhelming Star Trek: Nemesis, showrunner Terry Matalas has pledged that the last season of The Next Generation will be a fitting send-off for the cast.
It doesn’t matter what you have to say about Nemesis. He said to Startrekmovie.com that the events didn’t leave him with the impression that that was the final chapter for those characters. They deserved a proper farewell. This was the essence of the sales pitch made to Patrick Stewart and the rest of them. I got in touch with the entire cast and told them, “I want to speak about your characters, where you think their characters are and want to send you all out the way that Star Trek VI was a very amazing send-off for the original crew.”
Fans of Star Trek continuity will be happy to learn that not only the cast of The Next Generation will be making a comeback. We last saw the Enterprise-D crash in Star Trek: Generations, and it will be this ship that Picard and his old crewmates employ in season three.
Stewart said at Comic-Con, “We do return to the original Enterprise for a time.” Forgot everything about the carpeted floors from the beginning days. That’s the progress we’ve made!
We also know that Amanda Plummer, who seems hellbent on exacting revenge on Jean-Luc Picard, will be the main enemy in the series last season. There’s no telling what’s set her off, but she’s clearly upset. According to the promotional materials, she plans to use Beverley Crusher as bait to lure in Jean-Luc Picard, who will then turn to his former crew for help.
We can only hope that some of the plot points from Picard’s second season will be continued there as well. And then there’s Jean-Luc and Laris, who seem to be getting closer and closer to becoming more than just friends.
