A Florence guy who was sought in relation to the murder of two persons in Jackson’s downtown is now in police custody.
The incident occurred on Jefferson Street in front of the Mississippi State Fairgrounds at roughly 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
Officers responded to shots fired and discovered two people deceased from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, according to DPS Spokesman Bailey Martin.
Jordan Kyle Cummins, 27, was detained by Capitol Police in relation to this incident. The first getaway vehicle for Cummins was a 2008 Gold Chevrolet Malibu with the license plate RAX 5933.
Cummins wasn’t found anywhere, according to Capitol Police.
This event happened when Hal’s St. Patrick’s Parade was being attended by a large crowd in downtown Jackson.
