Does Tony Danza Join Season 3 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan?
Starz renewed Power Book III: Raising Kanan for a third season before the second season even premiered, and now we know that the season two finale will introduce a new important character who will play a significant role in the third season. Tony Danza, a TV veteran, will play the role of Stefano Marchetti, the Godfather of New York City’s mob scene, in the Season 2 finale.
Kanan (Mekai Curtis) has made major strides in the drug trade, a profession he was indoctrinated into by his family, led by his merciless mum Raq (Patina Miller), who appears to have conquered the drug market in Queens at this point in Season 2.
With regard to the New York City mafia drug scene, Marchetti is the most powerful figure in the city. No pharmacy in the city can operate without first consulting him on stock and distribution, and those that refuse to do so will be penalized. Kanan’s blatantly ambitious mother is always looking to increase her power base, and Marchetti may be a formidable opponent.
Danza has been nominated for an Emmy for his roles in Taxi and Who’s the Boss? Although he has made a few memorable film performances, Danza has spent the vast majority of his career working in television. His acting career has taken him from TV comedies like Rita Rocks and Broad City to streaming services like Hulu’s There’s… Johnny! and Netflix’s The Good Cop.
Danza has been keeping himself busy as of late; he’s currently filming the fantasy film Darby Harper Wants You to Know, which will debut on Hulu during the Christmas season, and he’ll reprise his role as a retired major league baseball star in an upcoming ‘Who’s the Boss?’ revival at Amazon Freevee.
