Rascal Does Not Dream Fans, Prepare for the End of the Road

In the afterword of the thirteenth novel volume in his Seishun Buta Yar light novel series, Seishun Buta Yar wa Santa Claus no Yume o Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus), author Hajime Kamoshida noted that the narrative is approaching its conclusion. Last Friday saw the shipment of volume 13.

The main character of the novel is Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student who is one of the many adolescents who experience Adolescence Syndrome, a puzzling condition in which certain teenagers display unidentified and frequently undesirable powers that result from unconscious desires, fears, or mental stress. Sakuta meets other people with Adolescence Syndrome, and the two of them work through their issues together.

A famous young actress named Mai Sakurajima, who had an unconscious desire to be forgotten by the world and is now largely unknown to most people, is introduced to Sakuta at the start of the novel.
