Police in Florida said they discovered Ray Anthony Lewis III, 28, unclothed and lifeless in an Orlando suburb home around 5:34 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that a buddy of Lewis’s yelled, “He needs Narcan!” to responding emergency personnel as another friend did CPR.
Police tried to revive Lewis III with an over-the-counter opioid reversal medication but were unsuccessful.
According to the report, a blue tablet matching the description of the anti-anxiety medicine Xanax was discovered close to the body. Inside of a beer can they discovered a used needle and a little plastic bag.
According to the investigation, Lewis III’s companions reported he was “acting strange,” leading them to suspect that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Ray Lewis, the great linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, has not yet spoken on the loss of his son, but other family members have.
Rashaan Lewis, the younger brother, took to social media to pay tribute to his older sibling, calling him a “true angel” and said he hopes his sibling is “at peace now because I know how much you was really hurting.”
“Really can’t believe I’m even typing this but RIP big brother, ” Rahsaan wrote on Instagram.
“I don’t and I won’t ever have the words man, ’cause this pain right here… I love you, I love you, I love you,” he added.
Diaymon Lewis, Lewis III’s bereaved sister, also paid tribute to her brother on Friday.
“Brownie, I love [you] with all of my heart,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “You will always be my first love and truly are the definition of a quintessential brother.”
