RICO Indictment Leads To 25 Gang Member Arrests

Following a year-long investigation into gang activity, Gwinnett police reported that at least 26 persons had been indicted. All except one of them are currently being held by police.

The 210-count indictment includes, among other things, offenses under the Gang Act, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, and counts of criminal murder, homicide with malice, multiple armed robberies, and aggravated assaults.

According to Gwinnett police, the allegations relate to a number of shootings and other violent offenses that occurred throughout the metro Atlanta area.

Police looked into numerous shootings that occurred along Duluth’s Boggs Road in August 2021. These incidents were linked to continuing hostilities between the “Blitxtz” and the “56 Gang,” according to investigators.

Police reported that “56 Gang” members assassinated 18-year-old Jeremiah Pretto of Duluth on August 29, 2021. Investigators learned that the “56 Gang” was connected to previous violent acts. Many armed robberies, carjackings, and severe assaults were among these crimes.
