Season 7 of Riverdale has been eagerly awaited by viewers who are ready for the tale to continue after the shocking events of the season 6 finale.
Because the characters have been teleported to the 1950s, the pressing concern is how they will return to the present. Jughead seems to be the only one who remembers their previous existence. His peers think they’re teens of the era, coming of age as the world transforms, and they decide how they want to conduct their lives.
After missing its regular fall release in 2022, fans have been left wondering when they would next visit Pop’s and the rest of the town’s inhabitants. To God’s glory, the waiting time is nearly at an end. While the next season of Riverdale won’t be premiering until later in the year, its arrival is imminent. Let us lay forth the facts!
The Premiere Of Season 7 Of Riverdale
On March 29 at 9 p.m. ET, the debut of Season 7 will air on The CW. Those who hoped the last season wouldn’t be too short will be pleased to learn that the show will air its usual 20 episodes. It has also been confirmed that the final episode of Riverdale will air on Wednesday, August 23, at 9 p.m. ET. That’s fine, because its wacky, off-the-wall narrative will keep us entertained all summer long until it’s time to say goodbye.
This means that the last season will be available for binge watching in its entirety on Netflix in the United States on or around Thursday, August 31. Here you can find out more about Season 7.
The CW has released the official plot summary for Riverdale’s final season:
The seventh season goes where no season has dared to before—the 1950s! Picking up where last season ended, Jughead Jones finds himself trapped in the 1950s. He has no idea how he got there nor how to get back to the present. His friends are no help, as they are living seemingly authentic lives, similar to their classic Archie Comics counterparts, unaware that they’ve ever been anywhere but the 1950s.
Archie Andrews is the classic all-American teen, coming of age, getting into trouble, and learning life-lessons; Betty Cooper is the girl next door, starting to question everything about her perfect life—including her controlling mother, Alice; Veronica Lodge is a Hollywood starlet who moved to Riverdale under mysterious circumstances; Cheryl Blossom is the Queen Bee with a withering wit and a secret longing; Toni Topaz is an activist fighting for the Black students of recently integrated Riverdale High; Kevin Keller is a “square” crooner wrestling with his sexual identity; Reggie Mantle is a basketball star from farm country; and Fangs Fogarty is a greaser who’s destined to be an Elvis-type star.
It isn’t until Jughead is visited by Tabitha Tate—Riverdale’s Guardian Angel—that he learns the cosmic truth about their predicament. Will Jughead and the gang be able to return to the present? Or will our characters be trapped in the 1950’s forever? And, if so…is that such a bad thing?
What Will Happen In Riverdale Season 7?
We don’t know much about the new season’s plot, but the CW drama will have a strong 1950s setting. This show has included supernatural elements in the past, with Cheryl rescuing everyone from Bailey’s Comet in the previous season. In 1955, we also witnessed Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead’s transition into young adulthood. Nevertheless, only Jughead recalled the events that transpired.

Creator, EP, and scribe Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told Decider, “Jughead recalls everything that happened. Whether or not they are aware of it, I believe our characters retain an emotional recollection of their experiences… There has been no break in continuation. He also confirmed that the episode would wrap up loose ends from the previous season.
Aguirre-Instagram Sacasa’s page frequently gives viewers a glimpse into the show’s production process. Pop’s customers can be seen dancing in the preview for the premiere episode of Riverdale season 7, which he released recently, and the show’s characters are also revealed.
