According to police, a criminal broke into a helicopter at the Sacramento Executive Airport and crashed it while trying to flee.
Between 4 and 6 in the morning, a trespasser tested four different helicopters on the runway before starting one, according to police reports to KCRA.
The suspect fled the area after their takeoff attempt crashed.
No injuries have been reported, according to the police, and no one has been taken into custody.
The Sacramento Bee was informed by police that “this investigation is in its early stages and this information is preliminary while investigators attempt to learn exactly what occurred.”
Photos from KCRA show that the helicopter, a Bell 407 heavy-lift helicopter, had significant damage and seemed to be destroyed.
