Sarah Jessica Parker’s private life is completely different from her public persona. Although her role as Carrie Bradshaw on S*x and the City made her an icon for single women everywhere, she and her husband Matthew Broderick have had one of the longest and most stable marriages in Hollywood.

How did Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker meet?
It would be easy to assume that they met in one of the many Brat Pack parties held in Hollywood during the 1980s, given their respective roles in the teen comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the cult TV series Square Pegs. Parker and Broderick claim that they met in 1991 on Broadway while they were both performing there.
According to a 1996 article in The New York Times, “[Broderick] became friends with [Parker’s] older brothers, Pippin and Toby, after he directed a play at the Naked Angels Theater Company in which Toby performed.” After going on one movie date, Broderick allegedly ghosted Parker until he called her on February 1, 1992, to invite her out again. (Yes, SJP did recall the precise day!)
When Did Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Get Married?
Parker and Broderick tied the knot less than a year after making their Broadway debut and after being together for quite some time. The ceremony took place at the Angel Orensanz Synagogue in New York City.
Under the idea that it was just a party, the two had invited their closest friends and family members. They ended up having a wedding with about a hundred unexpected guests. Parker, rather than wearing the customary white dress, exchanged her “I do”s while wearing black.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Have How Many Children?
Three children have been born to Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. On October 28, 2002, Parker gave birth to the couple’s first child, a son. They reside in New York City.
Due to her unexpected pregnancy midway through the run of Sex and the City, the fifth season was shortened to only eight episodes. Parker and Broderick have twin daughters via surrogate on June 22, 2009.
