Since there aren’t many RPGs set in the Star Wars universe these days, the best option is the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR). That is not a negative thing at all. Despite being an MMORPG, SWTOR’s production value is so high that it surpasses that of many other modern RPGs. To know Star Wars The Old Republic Pc requirements read below.
However, at its heart, it is still an MMORPG, and as such, it features a number of systems and complexities that may turn off players who are unfamiliar with the genre. Those who have played other massively multiplayer online games will feel right at home in this theme park MMORPG. Even still, it’s not a smart idea to dive headfirst into SWTOR without having some concept of what to anticipate. Remember, you are no Jedi, and there is no amount of training in the Force that will adequately prepare you for this challenge.

In What Has Happened So Far…
The first two games in the series are effectively the earliest time in Star Wars video games, taking place roughly 4,000 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. Many Jedi have been killed or turned to the Dark Side as the resurgent Sith, under the leadership of the Jedi Knights Darth Revan and Malak, wage open war against the Old Republic.
Bastila Shan, a youthful and formidable Jedi, leads a successful strike force against Revan, causing the Dark Lord to vanish and allowing Malak to regain control of the Sith. In trying to piece together the events leading up to Malak’s defeat on board the ancient Star Forge, where the Sith armada had been constructed, the player character discovers that they are actually a mind-wiped Revan, their previous memories purged by the Jedi in the hopes of redeeming their greatest foe, leading to Malak’s defeat.
Five years had passed since the events of the first game, and the battle against the Sith had gotten worse for the Republic by the time of the sequel. Now, the last remaining Jedi have been hunted to the brink of extinction, and it is up to an exiled former member of the Order to reawaken their connection to the Force, go to the Sith Academy on Malachor V, and vanquish the Sith Lords once and for all.
Following the Jedi and Sith about 300 years after the conclusion of the Jedi Civil War, The Old Republic depicts how the fragile truce between the two Force-sensitive factions leads to strife and intrigue that ripples throughout the galaxy and shapes its history for millennia.

Characters In Star Wars The Old Republic
Even though the Old Republic era takes place thousands of years before the events of the movie, many of the same archetypes that exist throughout the Star Wars canon may be found there. The original game’s protagonist, Revan, was once a powerful Jedi Knight, but he turned to the Dark Side after discovering how to use the Star Forge to build an army.
Malak had been Revan’s pupil before he defected to the Sith and attempted to seize power for himself while his former master was engaged in a battle with the Jedi. The Jedi Knight Bastila Shan, whose creative tactical applications of the Force were crucial throughout the conflict, was another important character in the 2003 game, and the renegade Jedi Juhani and Jolee Bindo might join the fray as well.
Republic veteran Carth Onasi piloted their spacecraft, the Ebon Hawk, with the help of Twi’lek mechanic Mission Vao and her faithful Wookie companion Zaalbar. Canderous Ordo, a grizzled Mandalorian mercenary, and the utility droid T3-M4 rounded out the cast.
The protagonist of the sequel, called the Jedi Exile, fought alongside the eventual Sith Lord Revan against the Mandalorians as part of the Republic’s defense. The Exile’s link to the Force was lost for a long time after he committed a terrible war crime. The Exile’s connection to the Force is reawakened by the Jedi Kreia, and he is soon joined by the likes of Atton Rand, a former Sith assassin, as well as the mechanic Bao-Dur, the Sith apprentice Visas Marr, and the criminal robot G0-T0.
Bounty hunters Mira and Hanharr, Jedi Master Mical the Disciple, and either Brianna the Handmaiden or Mical the Disciple based on the character’s alignment and gender rounded out the sequel’s cast. Titled Sith Lords Darth Sion, a warrior whose decaying body was held together by his malicious use of the Force, Darth Traya, and Darth Nihilus, who surrendered his physical form through devotion to the Force, faced up against the crew.
Star Wars The Old Republic Sacred History And Legends
All of the Star Wars: The Old Republic games were unmistakably Star Wars despite being set thousands of years in the past. The Jedi and Sith still used lightsabers, and rogues still used hyperspace to evade enemy fighters with the help of a few well-placed blaster blasts and a witty remark. In addition to familiar planets like Tatooine and Kashyyyk, players were given access to worlds they had never seen before and granted new Force abilities that had not yet been featured in the films or the Expanded Universe.
Due to the show’s popularity, both Lucasfilm and Dark Horse Comics have released comic book miniseries set in the same universe. The Old Republic era is a good fit for Benioff and Weiss because of their experience penning legendary action and rich intrigue.
