The victim in the case is a lawyer who was purportedly tied to a lawsuit the victim’s client filed years ago, and a South Florida physician was detained over the weekend on a murder accusation.
The plastic surgeon accused of murdering Pinellas County attorney Steven Cozzi is Dr. Tomasz Kosowski, 44.
Authorities claim that on March 21, Cozzi attempted to exit his Blanchard Law office but was unsuccessful. On his desk, his smartphone, wallet, and keys were discovered.
Blood stains and a chemical odor were discovered by the police in the office restroom. Police then discovered via forensics that the restroom had a significant quantity of blood.
Kosowski was detained by Largo Police Department investigators on a first-degree murder charge on Sunday.

Kosowski’s primary practice location is listed as being off Southwest Eighth Street in Miami by the Florida Department of Health.
Also, he is listed for at least two Miami practices as a plastic surgeon.
There is a connection between the doctor and the lawyer, according to reports.
At Laufer Institute, Kosowski sued his former employer and coworkers four years ago.
Cozzi works for Blanchard Law, which is the legal team defending Laufer Institute in this matter.
No additional information regarding the alleged murder was made available right away.
