The first trailer for Elizabeth Banks’s upcoming film Cocaine Bear caused a major stir on the web. The intriguing tale of a bear fueled by cocaine who goes on a killing spree both amuses and intrigues. The classification of “horror comedy” seems about right for this film. Banks has just talked to Total Film about how he wants to do something “out of the box” with his next movie.
What Is The Story Of Cocaine Bear?
We live in a world with an abundance of creative people, so it’s unexpected when we realize that a story is true that wasn’t presented to us in a documentary. However, there are times when only reality can provide the best and most ridiculous stories, and Cocaine Bear is one such story.

The events surrounding Cocaine Bear’s legend begin in December 1985. A convicted drug smuggler who was also a former narcotics officer was flying with a load that was too big for the plane. He had thrown a duffel bag containing kilos of cocaine out of the plane in an effort to lessen his load.
Andrew C. Thornton II, the pilot, opted to go after his dropped cargo and tried to release his parachute but it didn’t work and he died when he hit the ground. Although this has the makings of a wild story so far, it is only getting started. A 175-pound American black bear found the duffel bag of cocaine and decided to eat it.
The total value of the haul was about $15 million. The film’s plot will most likely revolve around the bear’s drug-fueled killing spree while under this tremendous influence. As the rest of the story is non-fiction, it has been thoroughly recorded; however, it may be best to stop there so as not to give away any plot points.
