NCSoft, the company that is responsible for creating the Lineage series of MMORPGs, is working on a new project called Throne And Liberty. It was initially supposed to be the third game in the series, but it was delayed so many times that it was renamed Throne And Liberty and its release date was pushed back to 2023. Project TL was first revealed in 2011, but it faced many setbacks along the way.
The video game will be playable on personal computers as well as the PlayStation 5, will feature an entirely new intellectual property, and is currently receiving a great deal of attention as a result of the director’s announcement and overview video explaining that the game was, in fact, nearly ready to be launched. This article will detail everything that we currently know about the game, including its classes, gameplay, release dates, and platform specifications.
What Do The Terms Throne And Liberty Mean?
NCSoft, the South Korean company that is responsible for developing the Lineage series of games as well as Guild Wars, has announced that their next game will be Throne And Liberty. The game was first announced way back in 2011 under a different name. Since then, it has been continually delayed, and numerous of its betas have been abandoned. But now, thanks to a Director’s Preview that was just recently made available to the public, we have more information than we have ever had before regarding what the game actually entails.
Throne and Liberty is an open-world MMORPG that consists of a single, continuous zone that can be explored. A dynamic weather system that will have an effect on both the gameplay and the visuals of the world is included in this game. It is an MMO, after all, and was created to allow players to build their own storylines. Although there is a story in the game, the development team has referred to it as a “background saga” rather than something that is at the forefront of your experience.

The Gameplay of The Throne And Liberty MMORPG
Throne and Liberty are shaping up nicely, and in some respects, it’s shaping up rather nicely. Today is no different, as NCSoft has just released a brand new video depicting gameplay from a company-wide event that was held for internal testing purposes. Employees participated in the event to try out the character creation, the in-game tutorial, various world boss fights, and the PvP castle siege.
Everything that is displayed in the video appears to be in excellent condition, at least most of the time. In my perspective, there is sometimes actually TOO much going on on the screen, and it can be difficult to determine what it is that you should be looking at; however, this could be due to the fact that I have not yet truly sat down and played the game.
It is still anticipated that Throne and Liberty will be released in the first half of 2023, and it would appear that the development team is pretty pleased with the results of the tests. According to NC Principal Development Management Officer Moon Young Choi, “The enormous playtest, which encompassed hundreds of employees, received heaps of excellent feedback about Throne & Liberty’s game content and competitiveness.” Before the game is released the following year, “We will continue to focus our attention on developing game content while taking into consideration all of the internal comments we got.”
