Virgin River, a popular love drama on Netflix, centers on nurse practitioner Mel Monroe as she builds a new life for herself in the village of Virgin River, California. It has been a heartwarming watch for five seasons.
The decision to split the fifth season of the show into two parts recently made perfect sense given that the first installment, which debuted on September 7, was *really* dramatic. After a wildfire spreads through town and Mel suffers a miscarriage, the final episode of season 5 part 1 depicts the residents in complete mayhem.

What Happened During Virgin River Season 5 Part 1?
Mel learns in the first episode of season 5 part 1 that her mom may have had an affair with a Virgin River resident, who may have been her biological father. In addition, viewers find out that Jack isn’t the father of Charmaine’s twins, and a huge wildfire tears through Virgin River, wreaking havoc in its wake.
Sadly, Mel has a miscarriage while assisting her neighbors to escape the fires, which is especially terrible given that she previously had a stillbirth. Mel explains to Jack that she can’t handle the thought of going through another pregnancy after her miscarriage, so even if they want children, it’s obvious they’ll have to find another solution.
Jack suggests getting married thereafter Mel decides she wants to purchase Tara’s farm. At the conclusion of part 1, there are obviously still many issues that need to be resolved.
Virgin River Season 5 Part 2 Plot
Women’s Health does have some information for you in advance even though Part 2 isn’t yet available. Patrick Sean Smith, the show’s producer, revealed to Glamour that part 2 of Virgin River will take place over the holidays (which will coincide with the actual holiday season) and will be a little less intense than part 1. He stated:
“The holiday episodes are a little bit lighter, and we wanted to play a little more comedy after the weight of this season, It felt like, if we’re going to give a holiday gift to the audience, let’s make it a fun one.”
There will be an annual Christmas tree light competition to watch, and the episodes will center on Jack and Mel’s search for Mel’s biological father.

Is Season 6 Available?
Yes! Season 5 part 2 essentially acts as a bridge to connect everyone from the turmoil of part 1 to season 6. But the show said in an Instagram post last week that the sixth season is already in the writing stage. As a result, don’t hold your breath for it any time soon:
