Early on Wednesday, a wrong-way driver struck and killed two Snohomish High School students on the West Seattle bridge.
They were both 18 years old.
The West Seattle Bridge’s westbound lane was being used by a white pickup truck in the incorrect direction, according to Seattle police. Witnesses claimed the truck hit a car prior to the arrival of the cops.
When Seattle police arrived at the scene at around 12:20 a.m., they discovered the pickup and a damaged vehicle in the westbound lane of the bridge.
When medical personnel from the Seattle Fire Department arrived, they pronounced the teenage boy and girl victims inside the vehicle dead.
The Snohomish School District verified that both victims were Snohomish High School students in a statement provided to KIRO 7.
Principal of SHS Nate DuChesne said, “It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that we have discovered that two students from our Panther community have fallen away following being engaged in a horrific car accident early this morning. “Student identities have not been disclosed out of respect, and we are asking our Panther community to kindly respect these families’ privacy,” the statement reads.

Intoxicated Pickup Driver Suspected of Homicide by Vehicle, Linked to Multiple Collisions
According to the police, the pickup driver displayed signs of intoxication. He is being looked at for homicide by vehicle.
A number of witnesses claimed to have seen the pickup driver before that night’s collision with the students’ vehicle.
A parked car along 35th Avenue Southwest was struck by what seems to be the same white pickup truck, which then fled the scene, according to video evidence.
After receiving the footage from my neighbors on Wednesday morning, I glanced at it and thought, “It’s got to be the same truck. Naomi Rivera stated, “The tailgate is the same.
Another person claimed that while they were returning home, they too had seen the white pickup.
