Who Died in Jackass: Ryan Dunn and Zachary Hartwell From Jackass Both Died

The cast of Jackass does dangerous stunts, but that’s not how most of the show’s characters died. Several people who were on the MTV show and movies or who worked with them died.

West Goshen Township police said that Ryan Dunn‘s car was going between 130 and 140 mph when it hit the guard rail, crashed into the woods, and caught on fire. The report said that both men were thought to have died on impact.

Ryan’s blood alcohol level was.196%, which is more than twice the legal limit in PA. However, the police said they found “no drugs” in his body. They died in that car accident on June 20, 2011.

Michael Carroll, the chief of police in the area, said it was the “worst” car accident he had ever seen. “I’ve never seen a car wrecked like this in a car accident,” he said.

Ryan’s best friend, Bam Margera, said he got “the worst phone call of my life” when he heard about the crash. “The sadness is overwhelming,” Jackass star Johnny Knoxville said, calling him a brother.

At first, Zac’s dad said that they wouldn’t sue because Zac did the same thing Ryan did. But Hartwell’s family and wife sued Dunn’s estate for wrongful death the next year.

And they sued the bar, saying that they had given them too much. On November 8, 2011, MTV paid Ryan Dunn a one-hour tribute. When Dunn died, he was 34 years old, and Hartwell was 30.

As they pulled him off the horse he was riding with Bam tied to his feet, he fell and hurt his already hurt shoulder even more. During treatment, he was told he had Lyme disease, which at that point also became dangerous to his life.
