Creed revived Rocky in 2015. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) handing the torch to a younger boxing champion was questioned by fans of the 1977 Best Picture winner and its many sequels. In this article, we will read about Creed III.
Creed stood up to and even beyond the franchise’s heritage.
The new hero of the franchise, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), is the son of Rocky’s old competitor and close friend Apollo Creed. Creed is a great remake that develops past characters and introduces a new famous name (Carl Weathers).
In Ryan Coogler’s first Creed film, Adonis left a lucrative career to pursue his passion for professional boxing without being overshadowed by his father. He seeks Rocky Balboa, who trains Adonis to be a great boxer and a better person.
Creed II, directed by Steven Caple Jr. (The Land), showed that the previous film wasn’t a fluke by telling the story of Adonis becoming a spouse and father and reintroducing Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) and his son Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) as well-developed villains.
With Sylvester Stallone retiring as Rocky Balboa, Creed II seemed to finish the Rocky series. Creed III was announced shortly after Creed II’s release. Michael B. Jordan will direct and star in the picture for the first time, as well as produce it.
Creed III (2023) will be a fitting end to the trilogy with Ryan Coogler as executive producer and Jordan ready to helm. Here’s everything we know about Adonis’s next adventure before Creed III debuts next year.
Creed III Trailer
On October 18, 2022, the first official trailer for Creed III was posted online, showing viewers that Damien, an old buddy of Adonis’, has been released from jail and prepares to take on his brother-figure, who he claims left him for a better life. The trailer places the franchise on Adonis Creed, as expected, without Rocky Balboa.
Online set photographs reveal Michael B. Jordan directing and Jonathan Majors as Damien Anderson, the franchise’s latest enemy fighter. In response to Majors’ ripped work-out makeover in Creed III set photographs, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu joked on Twitter that “the Avengers are straight up effed.” This year’s Licensing Expo in Las Vegas revealed Creed III’s poster.
We also got a behind-the-scenes video with more footage and an emotional chat with Michael B. Jordan about the legacy of this character, being able to direct, and Creed III being the first sports film in IMAX.

When And Where Is Creed III Releasing?
Creed III will arrive on March 3, 2023, instead of November 2022. Creed III is scheduled to debut in theatres like its predecessors. Prime Video’s multi-billion dollar purchase of Rocky series owner MGM makes it the most likely streaming home for Creed III.
Creed III’s Plot
Adonis had just defeated Viktor Drago, ending their long-standing feud since Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed in Rocky IV (1985). Almost all characters have happy endings. Adonis accepts his family lineage, Rocky reconciles with his family, and Ivan and Viktor put aside their petty competition to develop a real father-son bond.
Adonis will likely become a better father to his daughter in the next film, unlike other parental figures in the series who lost touch with their children.
