CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A warmer air mass is building into the area today as high pressure is in control.
The wind will be out of the south at 10-20 mph this afternoon making for a breezy and much warmer day ahead with a good deal of sunshine.
Enjoy the day with high temperatures forecast to be 65 to 70 degrees.
A very warm night ahead relative to average with lows staying at or above 50° in many spots with a partly cloudy conditions.
We believe temperatures can surge into the 70s tomorrow with a strong south wind that could gust over 40 mph at times.
This could put several record high temperatures in jeopardy Wednesday afternoon, though most look to stay a couple of degrees shy of achieving record heat.

- Cleveland: 76° (2012)
- Akron-Canton: 78° (2012)
- Mansfield: 78º (2012)
- New Philadelphia: 80° (2012)
Clouds will be on the increase in advance of the next cold front that is forecast to track through later Wednesday night.
Rain and thunderstorms become likely with the passage of this front. The best chance for storms will be west of I-71 as the loss of daytime heating and less favorable thunderstorm ingredients will be in place the farther east this line progresses.
Scattered showers will linger into Thursday as cold air begins to crash into the area. This will lead to a transition to snow by Thursday evening.
Friday looks to be a cooler, more seasonable, day with a mix of sun and clouds.
By the weekend, we are tracking another system which could leave us with rounds of rain and snow as a more typical late-March pattern sets up across Northeast Ohio. Daytime highs this time of year are typically into the upper 40s to near 50° which is where we will trend through the end of the forecast period.
